In the worlds before Monkey, primal chaos reigned.
Heaven sought order.
But the phoenix can fly only when its feathers are grown.
The four worlds formed again and yet again,
As endless aeons wheeled and passed.
Time and the pure essences of Heaven,
the moisture of the Earth,
the powers of the sun and the moon
All worked upon a certain rock, old as creation.
And it became magically fertile.
That first egg was named “Thought”.
Tathagata Buddha, the Father Buddha, said,
“With our thoughts, we make the world.”
Elemental forces caused the egg to hatch.
From it then came a stone monkey.
The nature of Monkey was irrepressible!
And just after that Asaf Sirkis formed The Inner Noise.
And today 2014-10-19 18.05.37 Asaf has put all these albums on Bandcamp.
Here’s a clip from a recent gig with the London Horns.
It’s Alex Garnett on sax. He’s such an amazing musician, leads his own groups, writes stellar tunes, he’s got it all going on. Alex has a brand new album out called ‘Andromeda’, check him out at his website here:
You may have realised I started a lessons kind of site. Have a look – electriccampfire.com
I’ve been thinking. And thinking. And thinking.
And I decided to move all the lessony/notebook stuff from here to that domain and keep this domain for me, my music and blogging more about making music. I’ll be doing that this week.
That’s because I want to make more music. And writing about it helps me do that. Expect that here.
Over there is where you’ll find all that guitar/improv whatever it was stuff. And I’ll be doing those posts EVERY SINGLE DAY when I say GO. Expect that, ooh, soon? No, how about March? You suggest a date and I’ll go with that.
As well as those notebook every day things, electriccampfire.com has a SPECIAL [shhhh] MEMBERS ONLY super secret section.
Don’t tell ANYONE about it.
It’s where I, and all the special people who subscribe, go BANANAS on topics. At the moment we’re working on developing a short practice routine. There are many videos, lots of words, LOTS of chat. And it’s growing. It’s outta control…
I launched my new site – The Electric Campfire – last Saturday. We’re currently a 60 strong group, and we’ve been getting stuck in to the beginnings of how to develop an effective technical practice routine, sharing results, plus trying out some secret learning strategies…
I’m giving special emphasis on HOW to practice, how to learn, how to keep going, motivation, and so on.
Join us!
Do you want video lessons, and in-depth explorations of improvisation, guitar playing and effective practicing? We’ll be talking, exchanging ideas, moving forwards, going VERY DEEP.
